• Bird Feeders: Try to position the bird feeder further away from your home, and purchase types that are gravity feeding units with guards that prevent animals from climbing.
• Garbage Cans: Make sure to secure the lids with plastic cords and that the garbage cans are a durable metal or plastic.
• Pet Food: Try not to leave any excess pet food on your porch or walkway.
• Vents: Make sure attic fans and vents are screened with additional hardware cloth to keep out squirrels and bats.
• Trees: Keep branches of trees cut back at least three feet from the roof.
• Chimneys: Cover all chimney vents with chimney caps.
• Exterior Doors: During the night, keep garage and shed doors closed to help prevent unwanted visitors.
• Caution: Never approach a raccoon, opossum, or skunk during daylight hours.
About ABC Humane Animal Removal
We are a Christian operated company whose owner has over 20 years experience as a wildlife control agent. Also a longtime member and director of the West Virginia Trappers Association, owner Mike Gray has achieved many accolades such as being inducted into the WVTA Hall of Fame, and received over a dozen national titles as a champion trap setter. He is also chairman of West Virginia's Trapper Education program through the WVTA.
In addition, he also previously served as Monongalia County dog warden, and is a cooperator for USDA Wildlife Services.
Giving Back
Each year, ABC Human Animal Removal performs a number of free educational presentations for schools, scout groups, churches, and other civic organizations within the greater Morgantown area. Topics include but are not limited to wildlife identification, careers in wildlife, and basic trapping skills. Dates are limited, please call for details.
